Canandaigua Outscores Frisky Brighton

Braves weather early scare to win 40-22
Brighton showed up ready to pull an upset.

However, after an early surge by the Barons, Canandaigua scored 40 of the game's final 48 points to win comfortably 40-22 in Brighton Friday night.

Christian Thomas capped the game's opening drive with a 35 yard TD run. The Barons followed by recovering an onside kick and Thomas scored again from six yards out. Brighton led 14-0 before Canandaigua even touched the ball.

The Braves then faced 3rd and 30 after botching a shotgun snap. Canandaigua ran a draw for 13 yards, but a facemask penalty gave them five yards and another shot at 3rd down.

They didn't waste it.

Christian Schaefer found Jaymin Ransom for a 55 yard catch and run that got the Braves on the scoreboard. On CA's next offensive play, Schaefer went to Eric Munn for 53 yards and TD to even the game at 14. From there, Canandaigua was in control.

The Braves improve to 5-1 while Brighton falls to 2-4.
