Charlotte Moves to Regional After Topping Leadership

Snow goes for 22 points to stop Lions
Charlotte did what they've done all season: grab an early lead and never look back. The Lakersiders outplayed and outran Leadership Academy, winning the Class B Western, NY regional play-in game 72-60 on Wednesday at Edison Tech.

The Lakesiders led 19-11 after the first quarter and 35-26 at halftime. Tyriek Snow was a load down low, finishing with a game-high 22 points for Charlotte. Donte Crumpler dazzled the crowd with two slam dunks alons with 19 points. Lakesiders point guard Malik Herring was a threat from the outside, chipping in 17 points for Charlotte.

To their credit, Leadership Academy did hang around in this contest. The Lions narrowed the deficit to 3 points late in the 3rd quarter but were unable to top Charlotte. Junior point guard Victor Caldwell scored a game-high 25 points and Shabazz Mosley posted 18.

Charlotte will take on Olean of Section VI in the Class B Western, NY Regional on Saturday, March 8th at 3:30 from Buffalo State College.
