East Holds Off Resilient Edison

Late free throws ensure East grabs 12th win
East maintained their hold atop the Class A standings with a 65-63 win at Edison on Friday night. Desmond Alexander and Steben Edwards each made big free throws in the closing seconds of the game to hold off a tough Inventors squad.

Once again, Dontay Caruthers had a tremendous impact on the final score. The senior finished with 26 points for East. Caruthers also added 6 assists, 6 steals, and 4 rebounds. Angel Liranzo wasn't far behind with 18 points for the 12-4 Orientals.

Edison hung around in the game thanks in part to Quan Colbert and his 25 points. Raliek Redd had 14 for the Inventors who fall to 7-10.
