Penfield Earns League Title, 1-Seed By Beating R-H

Hetzke misses 30, but scores enough for Patriots
For the first time in four games, Margot Hetzke did not score 30 points.

Penfield really didn't need it.

Hetzke still led the Patriots with 19 points and Penfield handled Rush-Henrietta 57-38 in Henrietta Tuesday night.

Emma Guy added a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Lucy Covley had 14 points, too.

Dana Watts led the Royal Comets with 13 points in defeat.

Penfield won every quarter. The Patriots led by eight at halftime and were up 15 after three quarters. They did not allow R-H to score more than nine points in a quarter until the game was out of hand in the fourth.

The Patriots clinched their fourth consecutive Monroe County East title and the 1-seed for the Class AA sectionals with the win. They finish the season at 16-2, but with both losses to teams outside Section Five.

Rush-Henrietta also ended the season 16-2 with both losses coming against Penfield.
