Penfield Tops Fairport in Closest Sec. V Cheer Final

Patriots win Class AA by 0.2 points over Red Raiders
Penfield knocked off the team many considered to be the favorite on, Fairport, by a score of 291.5 to 291.3 in the Section V Championship on Saturday afternoon at Gordon Fieldhouse on the RIT campus.

Margins that close are incredibly rare in high school cheerleading. It's believed that the 0.2 point difference between Penfield and Fairport is the closest finish in Class AA Cheerleading sectional history.

Not far behind, Rush-Henrietta finished at 287.8 in third place.

Geneva won the Class A title. Other winners from the Section V Cheerleading Championship:

Class B - Hornell
Class C1 - East Rochester
Class C2 - Red Jacket
Class D - Avoca
