Pittsford Shuts Out McQuaid

Panthers dominant on Pink the Rink night
Pittsford scored twice in the final 90 seconds of the first period and Danny Kelly made it stand up as the Panthers handily beat McQuaid 4-0 at the Bill Gray's Iceplex Friday night.

It was the Pink the Rink night for the Panthers who wore pink jerseys and raised money for breast cancer awareness. McQuaid joined in with pink skate laces and skate blade tape.

Both teams had chances and power plays during the first 13 minutes of the game, but neither could score. Finally, Thomas Boyatzies fought for a puck in the left slot and, with his back to the McQuaid goal, fed a pass to Connor Haims who guided the puck in for a 1-0 lead.

Less than a minute later, Christopher Perna streaked down the right side and found enough space to score again. It would prove to be more than enough offense for the Panthers.

Pittsford improved to 13-4 while McQuaid suffered only their second loss of the year. The Knights are now 14-2-1.
