Strong 1st Half Sends Perry to 6th Sectional Title

Tyler Elliott, tourney MVP, finishes with double-double
The (1)Perry Yellowjackets scored only 1 FG in the 4th quarter, but they still had enough to top (2)Wheatland-Chili in the Class C3 Final 56-48 on Saturday at Blue Cross Arena.

Perry outscored the Wildcats 17-9 and 19-9 in the first and second quarters to build a 36-18 halftime lead.

Tyler Elliott finished the game with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Cory Dillon was Perry's 2nd leading scorer with 14 points that included 4 game clinching free-throws in the final minutes. Mitch Cicero and T.J. McGinnis each had 11 for the Yellowjackets.

Wheatland-Chili made a valiant effort to close the gap to 5 points but couldn't overcome the 18-point halftime deficit. Rodney Roberts had a game-high 22 points. Andre' Gulley had 17 for the Wildcats.

Perry will face C1 champions Bloomfield at Caledonia-Mumford HS at 7:00 on Monday, March 3rd in the Western, NY regional play-in game.
