Sutherland Romps To State Final Four

Huge 2nd quarter run gives Knights control
Liz Greendyke scored 20 points to pace Sutherland past Williamsville South 58-36 in the Class A state quarterfinals Saturday afternoon at Finger Lakes Community College. 

The Knights trailed by a point early in the second quarter, but exploded for an 18-1 run. Greendyke got the run started with a three and scored nine of the 18 points. Santita Ebangwese got seven points during the run, including a buzzer beating layup that put Sutherland up 24-9 at the half. 

Williamsville South never got within ten points the rest of the game. 

Ebangwese finished with nine points, while seven other Knights contributed at least a bucket. 

Grace Licata led Williamsville South with 16 points. 

Sutherland moves on to Friday's state semifinal game at Hudson Valley CC near Albany. The Knights will play Maine-Endwell from the Binghamton area at 1:30pm. The winner plays for the state title on Saturday, March 15th at 7pm.
