Penfield Barely Gets Past Webster Thomas

Hetzke's big OT helps Patriots pull out win
Margot Hetzke scored 29 points, including eight in overtime, as Penfield avoided a stunning upset with a 67-63 win over Thomas in Webster Friday night.

The Titans led from the end of the first quarter until the final two and a half minutes of the fourth. Candaisy Crawford had 28 points to pace Thomas. Allie Diehl made six three-pointers and finished with 18 points.

Lucy Covley had 18 points to support Hetzke and the Patriots. Emma Guy had a duplicate double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Penfield is now 7-2, but 5-0 against Section Five teams. The Patriots had won the first four games against Rochester teams by an average of 34 points.

Thomas falls to 4-5.
