The Knights called on Will Mahar.... to kick.
The senior buried a 52-yard field goal as time expired to give McQuaid a 22-21 win over Edison on Elmwood Avenue Friday night.
It was Mahar's 5th field goal of the game. He made from 37 and 41 yards in the first half and added 23 and 21 yarders in the second half before the game winning kick. Mahar did miss once. He also had an interception and seven catches for 183 yards.
Mahar played the game with a heavy heart. His grandfather, Raymond Mahar, passed away last Saturday. It was Will Mahar's first game since his grandfather's passing.
Zach Poudrier scored McQuaid's only touchdown from two yards out just before halftime.
McQuaid improves to 1-2 while Edison falls to 0-3.
