Bristol Mountain Celebrates 50 Years

Bristol Ski Resort is celebrating a big milestone.
Bristol Ski Resort is celebrating a big milestone.

People started skiing down Bristol Mountain 50 years ago. It started as a mountain with a few trails. Now there are 34 trails, two terrain parks and a nordic center. The mountain opened for the season about two weeks ago. Employees say natural snowfall and low temperatures have made it a perfect season so far.

"We are a part of the community, and we enjoy being a part of this community. We feel that it's important to give back, so we try to provide a product that provides outdoor fitness and health for families that can get together throughout the season," marketing director Drew Broderick said.

Families looking to ski or snowboard together will have more time for it soon. Starting Friday, Bristol is expanding its hours through 10 p.m. daily for the night season.
