For the first time ever, the Asbury Dining & Caring Center open its doors to serve Christmas lunch.

The center, which is run by the Asbury Methodist Church on East Avenue, is usually open on Sundays for dinner. Christmas lunch is a first. Nearly 75 volunteers from Temple Beth El gathered to cook food for guests and their families. Volunteers say they were happy to make the event happen.

"Hunger knows no bounds. So we are just happy to be here on the holiday and just allow everybody to enjoy themselves on Christmas," Amy Libenson said.

The dining center has been open for 20 years.
