The American Heart Association is asking everyone to wear red Friday.

A preview was held Thursday at the Monroe County Office Building. Friday marks AHA's 10th annual "National Wear Red Day," aimed at raising awareness in the fight against heart disease. One in three women suffer from heart disease. County Executive Maggie Brooks and Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren are encouraging everyone to participate.

"We know this disease affects many people of color, both African-Americans and Hispanics disproportionately to other people," Warren said.

Nearly 300 local businesses and community groups are signed up to support the Go Red events.
