Aqunias Hands Batavia-Notre Dame Their 1st Loss

Little Irish go on 9-0 run in final two minutes to seal impressive win
Aquinas showed tremendous resiliency in fighting back from a 12-point deficit to top Batavia-Notre Dame 46-42, handing the Fighting Irish their first loss of the season.

AQ senior Katie Carr finished with a career-high 20 points including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 2:00 remaining. Just 30 seconds after that basket, Nina Starkweather had a layup in the paint that put the game away for good for Aquinas. Starkweather finished the night with 12 points as the Little Irish move to 6-9.

Batavia-Notre Dame seemed like they were going to win the game convincingly before going ice cold in the second half. The Fighting Irish led 29-20 at halftime, but only scored 13 points over the game's final 8 minutes. Melanie Taylor had a team-high 13 points as B-ND falls to 12-1.
