Arrest Made in Honeoye Bank Robbery

The Ontario County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Holley man in connection with Saturday's bank robbery in Honeoye.
The Ontario County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Holley man in connection with Saturday's bank robbery in Honeoye.

John Burgio, 50 years-old, of Holley, was arrested in connection with the robbery that occurred just before 10 a.m. Saturday at the Canandaigua National Bank on Main Street.

With help from local residents in the area, deputies developed information which led to the suspect being located in a remote area of Springwater, Livingston County. The OSCO Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant and took Burgio into custody without incident. A substantial amount of the money taken in the robbery was also recovered.

Burgio was charged with Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree and Robbery in the 3rd degree and was placed in the Ontario County Jail pending a further court appearance.
