Big Second Half Carries Wayne

Morrison has all-around monster day for Eagles
Justin Morrison totaled 339 yards of offense and four touchdowns as (4)Wayne scored 30 points in the second half to beat (5)Batavia 38-21 in a Class B sectional quarterfinal Friday night in Wayne.

Morrison rushed 20 times for 218 yards and two scores. He also caught five passes for 121 yards and two more touchdowns.

Nathan Currier passed for 171 yards and three touchdowns for Wayne with 65 of those yards came on an NFL-level two-minute drill to close out the first half. Trailing 8-0, Currier took the Eagles from their own 35 to the end zone in just 35 seconds. He completed five of six passes on the drive.

The Eagles then outscored Batavia 30-13 in the second to put the game away.

Wayne moves onto to face (1)Livonia in next week's semifinals. Livonia easily got past (8)Waterloo 48-0 Friday night.
