Bills Have New Turf For Camp At Fisher

Same field used at Ralph Wilson Stadium
It seems like the Bills are building from the ground up every year.

This year, it's almost literally true.

St. John Fisher recently installed a new playing surface at Growney Stadium. The football field is used by the Bills throughout training camp and exclusively for the team's night practices.

The field-turf is the same surface used at Ralph Wilson Stadium. It's called A-Turf Titan and it's sure to be a choice that goes over well at One Bills Drive.

Growney Stadium gets plenty of use from the six Cardinal teams that play there, the Bills in the summer and the dozens of high school events hosted at Fisher. This is the third different turf installed at Fisher since 1999.

"It was in need of either a huge amount of repair or something that was even better," Fisher Athletic Director Bob Ward said. "We thought that this turf was a really good turf for the future. It's state of the art. The filaments are split a little bit. The colors are vibrant, much more than other turfs, I feel. Overall, it came out great. "

The Bills report to Fisher on July 18th. Their first workout on the new turf will be Sunday, July 20th at 6pm.
