The Orange have been so good this year, they actually earned Jim Boeheim one of the rare awards he was yet to win. Boeheim was named the U.S. Basketball Writers Coach of the Year for the first time in his career Tuesday. The season began with Boeheims 800th win. In the middle, he got the Orange to number one in the nation and earned the first outright Big East title for Syracuse since 1991. Now, he has SU in its 19th NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. Boeheim will receive the Henry Iba award during the USBWA awards breakfast the Friday before the Final Four in Indianapolis.
