Bomb Squad and Hazmat called to Rochester Neighborhood

First Responders closed off several blocks around an apartment building on Sterling Street.
Everyone is safe after bomb squad and Hazmat crews were called to a Rochester neighborhood last night.  As a precaution, first responders closed off several blocks around an apartment at 57 Sterling street on Rochester's northwest side.

Police received a call for a landlord-tenant dispute.  They talked to the tenant and learned an unknown liquid was being manufactured in the apartment.  The bomb squad determined it was not hazardous.  The situation took a couple of hours to sort out.

Tashja Walls, a resident in the area said, "I heard people screaming down, I heard people running down talking about Police got shotguns, Back up, back up."  Terrence Hill, another resident, added, "The Police were standing right here. Right here. He had a shotgun in his hand."

The liquid is believed to be a bio-fuel.  The unidentified tenant is charged with harassment in connection with the landlord dispute.
