Fans are giving the RIT hockey team a rousing sendoff as the team departs for Detroit. A wild pep rally was held on Tuesday in Henrietta.

The hockey team went Division I in 2005, the only sport to do so at RIT. Before this year, the hockey team never even made the tournament, much less the Frozen Four.

Hundreds of students are planning on attending the semi-final game in Detroit.

RIT won against New Hampshire on May 27th in Albany. They will now face Wisconsin on April 8th in the national semifinals. The winner will play for the national title on April 10th against either Boston College or Miami of Ohio.
