City Teens Honored for Participating in Summer Works Program

Each student is now qualified to be a professionally licensed child care provider.
Rochester, NY (WROC) - While most of their peers spent the summer relaxing, more than a dozen city teens are being honored for working.  Twenty city students were given awards Friday for participating in the Rochester Works summer program.  The teens worked at the Caring and Sharing child care center.

Now, because of the long hours they put in, each student is qualified to be a professoinally licensed childcare provider.  "It was a fun experience; I was working with the little infants," said student worker, Jacob Kellison.  "I had a great experience.  I might work here next year for the summer employment."

After the ceremony, students got to meet some of their local officials and business leaders at a reception.
