The Charles Settlement House is still in shambles one month after burst pipe flooded the Parkway Street Community Center.

It happened on the night of January 7th. The water flowed for 45 minutes before it was turned off. Four of the building's five levels were damaged, some critically. Workers spent Thursday removing furniture so they can start rebuilding the floors and walls. They say the flood was a disaster.

"The damage here was devastating. It was extensive. It's amazing how far and how fast water can get into every crevice of a building. You don't know it until you see it," president Scott Benjamin said.

Most of the Charles Settlement House services resumed off-site with little interruption. The Parkway Street building is expected to be back to normal in the early spring.
