Convicted Child Killer Eric Smith Up For Parole Today

The 34-year old is serving 9 years to life in prison.
A Steuben County child killer is up for parole today.  Eric Smith was thirteen when he killed four year old Derrick Robie in 1993.  He was convicted of second degree murder and sentenced to nine years to life in prison.  In 2012, a panel denied him parole for the fifth time.  The parole board said the decision not to release Smith was due to concern for public safety.
The parents of Smith's victim, Derrik Robie, have made it their mission to keep him behind bars.
