Daughters of Faith Come to Rochester

It's a faith-based organization designed to provide mentorship and develop leadership skills in young girls.

Rochester, NY (WROC) - Residents in Southwest Rochester now have a new organization to help mentor and empower teenage girls.

Congresswoman, Louise Slaughter, was on hand to celebrate the "Daughters of Faith" group.  It's a non-profit, faith-based, organization that will provide young women with mentors and positive opportunities to prepare for the future.

The girls will have access to computer classes, job interview seminars and other programs that will help develop leadership skills and inspire them to flourish.

"We have so many young women who have given up hope of having any dreams whatsoever," explained Daughters of Faith's J. Natalie Simmons.  "They see one side of life, and there is so much more of life out there... We'll help them with whatever dream they have.  We'll further their education so that they can really see that they can do those things."

Daughters of Faith was established by Rochester area professional women.
