David Cay Johnston's New Book on Inequality

Pulitzer Prize-winning author examines income and opportunity gap.
Pulitzer Prize winning author David Cay Johnston has a new book out. It's called Divided: The Perils of Our Growing Inequality.

Johnston, a Brighton resident, has been writing about inequality for two decades. He said the gap between the rich and poor is growing. The income of most people is what the average person earned in 1966, in inflation-adjusted dollars.

Johnston stopped by News 8 First at 4 to talk about inequality and why we should care. He said the country should change its tax code and improve education, among other things, to address inequality. Watch by clocking the video above.
