Deadly Shooting on Thursday Morning in Rochester

One victim was shot at the corner of Dewey Avenue and Locust Street in Rochester around 8:40 a.m. Thursday.
 A shooting in Rochester's Edgerton neighborhood on Thursday morning has turned deadly, according to police.

One victim was shot at his residence at 14 Locust Street around 7:45 a.m. Thursday.  Police said the victim, a 26-year-old man who has not been identified, died shortly thereafter.

News 8's Jason Frazer reports that the victim was shot twice in the upper torso.  Police found his body in the first floor of the home, near the dining room.

Police are interviewing witnesses and continue to investigate.  There are police cameras near the intersection, which will be reviewed.

This is Rochester's 9th homicide of 2009.
