Early Morning Car Crash on NYS Thruway

One person has been taken by Mercy Flight to University of Rochester Medical Center following the crash.
NYS Thruway--One person has been taken to Strong Hospital by Mercy Flight following a two car crash on the New York State Thruway Friday morning.
State Police say it happened around 6 AM in the westbound lane, not far from the outlet mall between exit 41 and 42.
Investigators say one driver was pulled over to the shoulder after running out of gas when it was rear ended by another vehicle.
One car flipped.
Nine people were involved.
One person was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong with serious, but non life threatening injuries.
Two others were transported to Geneva General Hospital.
The rest were taken to Strong by ambulance.
No tickets have been issued but the crash is still under investigation.
Traffic in that area is back open at this hour.
