Fifth Annual Autism Awareness Fair

CDS Monarch hosted the Fifth Annual Autism Awareness Fair Friday to coincide with National Autism Awareness Month.
CDS Monarch hosted the Fifth Annual Autism Awareness Fair Friday to coincide with National Autism Awareness Month. The family friendly event aims to educate the public about autism.

But organizers say it's also a safe place for those who are living on the autism spectrum to meet each other and have some fun. "A lot of the events you see here are really great, they're focused on art and music therapy. A lot of sensory activities. It's not only great for the child that may have autism but their families too. It brings a lot of education for the family to help them support their child better." said Melissa Brown from CDS Monarch.

According to CDS Monarch, about one in 68 kids is diagnosed with Autism.
