Firefighters spent overnight putting out a large fire at Manitou Concrete.

A plow driver noticed the fire around 2:30 p.m. at the Jefferson Road facility. When firefighters arrived, two stories of the five-story building were completely engulfed, melting the siding off of the building. Crews had difficulty fighting it, in part becuase of frozen hydrants. A level 0 hazmat has been declared due to the chemicals inside the building, but crews say there is no potential harm to the public. They are still investigating the cause of the fire.
