Fmr. Blossom North Employees Back in Court

Two former Blossom North Employees were back in court today. One was sentenced while the other's sentencing was adjourned.
Two former Blossom North nursing home employees were back in Rochester City court today. 28-year-old Champagne Anderson of Rochester was sentenced to 3 years of probation. Anderson used to be a nurse at the home. She previously pleaded guilty to willful violation of public health law which is a misdemeanor.

34-year-old Trasy Jalil of Florida is also a former nurse at Blossom North. Today her sentencing was adjourned until September. She has also pleaded guilty to willful violation of public health law.

“Today’s sentencings send a clear message that caregivers who abuse or neglect patients in nursing facilities will be prosecuted and held accountable,” said Attorney General Schneiderman. “Those who are dependent on caregivers are among the most vulnerable New Yorkers, and we have a responsibility to make sure they’re treated with dignity and respect.”
