Foodlink is hosting a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser Saturday, April 26 from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Mark's and St. John's Church on Culver Road in Rochester.

Terra Keller, Community Relations Manager at Foodlink, discussed the event Friday on News 8 at Noon.

The Pancake Breakfast will be a first for Foodlink, the region's food bank.  The idea is to flip pancakes to help flip the eating habits of at risk individuals in the Rochester area.

Proceeds will benefit the Cooking Matters program, which has reached more than 1,000 people since its inception in 2011.  Cooking Matters empowers families at risk of hunger with skills, knowledge, and confidence to make healthy and affordable meals.  Foodlink partners with community agencies that serve low-income families to offer six-week courses where Foodlink staff members work alongside volunteer chefs and nutrition experts to provide lessons in cooking.

St. Mark's and St. John's Church is located at 1245 Culver Road.  Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for children (3 & under eat free).  They can be purchased at the door, or ahead of time online, click here.
