Gavin Hall In Playoff To Make US Am Match Play

17 players for 15 spots Wednesday at 7am
Gavin Hall isn't in the match play portion of the U.S. Amateur yet.

But, he's still alive.

Hall fired a +1, 71 today at the Charles River Country Club. It followed a 73 Monday at The Country Club of Brookline, Massachusetts. The 4-over total left him behind some 90 other players when he signed his card. However, as the difficult setup got the best of the field, Hall rose all the way to 50th.

The top 64 get into the match play finals. With 17 players tied for 50th, there will be a playoff Wednesday morning to decide the final 15 spots in the match play. It means only two players at 4-over will not advance.

The playoff begins on The Country Club's 507 yard par-4 14th. It's the toughest hole among the 36 played by the competitors in the Amateur, averaging a score of 4.788.
