General Killed in Afghanistan Was Albany Native

Major General Harold Greene was shot by a gunman dressed as an Afghan soldier.
News 8 has learned the general killed during an apparent insider attack in Afghanistan tuesday was an Albany native.
   

Major General Harold Greene was shot by a gunman dressed as an afghan soldier.  Fifteen others were wounded.  Greene is the highest ranking american officer killed in combat since 1970.
   

Greene was involved in preparing afghan forces for the departure of U.S. coalition troops at the end of this year.
