Geneva Dominates in Sectional Final

Panthers roll 63-30 over Batavia
(1)Geneva looked the part of a top-seed from start to finish in the Class A2 sectional final, winning 63-30 over (3)Batavia on Sunday from Blue Cross Arena.

The win marks Geneva's first sectional title since 1999 and the 5th all-time for the Panthers.

Geneva had four players finish in double-figures. Steven Dolgos led them all with 19 points. Trevor DiDuro, Akia Jackson, and Ray Sims Jr each put up 12 points for Geneva.

For the game, the Panthers shot 51.1% (23-45) while Batavia shot 31.6% (12-38).

The 2nd quarter stunted any chance of Batavia keeping pace in the game. The Blue Devils were outscored 17-3 over the final 8 minutes before halftime.

Batavia's leading scorer was Jeff Redband, who chipped in 16 points.

Geneva will take on A1 champions East High in the Western, NY regional play-in. That game is set for a 7:00 tipoff on Wednesday, March 5th at Rush-Henrietta High School.
