Geneva Knocked Out By Depew

Turnovers help do in Panthers
Depew intercepted two passes and turned the turnovers into an early 9-0 lead. Geneva could never recover and lost to Depew 29-9 in the Class B state quarterfinal at Sahlen's Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats had three interceptions overall and overcame 12 penalties to win.

Dan Golba led Depew with 97 yards on the ground and scored the game's first touchdown. Nick Perrine and Rodney Turner also had rushing TDs for Depew. Dylan Sekuterski hit Cody Penner for a 27-yard scoring pass in the third quarter that gave Depew a 23-3 lead and all but ended the game.

Kyle Cosentino led Geneva with 105 yards rushing. Mark Suchewski had the only Panther TD on a four yard run.

Depew moves on to the state semifinals next Saturday at 3pm at Sahlen's Stadium. Geneva finishes the year 9-2.
