Hayley Miller is one of the most accomplished young flutists in Rochester. Last year, she won the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition, which put her on stage, at the Eastman Theatre. She's been playing flute for 9 years, and she takes lessons from the best. Her teacher is RPO principal flutist Rebecca Gilbert. "Every time I hear her perform, something more has emerged and it's thrilling," Rebecca says. "It's a surprise. And it's always an inspiration to hear her, the next time she plays."
"Music is such an incredible gift that we have, it's so easy to enjoy," Hayley says. "I just want to share it with others. I think that's what keeps me going."
Every day, for at least three to four hours a day, Hayley practices her flute. She's an exceptional student applying to top-notch music schools. She's a great artist, well on her way to a career in music.
