A new study of women with advanced breast cancer found that testing the entire DNA of tumor cells helped researchers identify the best treatments for patients. Until now, genetic testing only analyzed a limited number of genes to select treatment options. But researchers say scanning the whole genome can identify abnormal genes that may have been missed. 

A new study out of Great Britain finds the number of people taking insulin to treat their type-2 diabetes has tripled during the past 20 years. Researchers say 421,000 people now use insulin to maintain their blood sugar levels. 

The Food and Drug Administration has published new requirements for infant formula. The new rules outline standards for manufacturers to produced safe formula that promotes healthy growth in babies. Two-thirds of American babies drink at least some formula by the age of three months.
