Help For Vineyards Victimized By Polar Vortex

Senator Chuck Schumer says the USDA needs to do more about the damage caused to grape crops in upstate New York.
Senator Chuck Schumer says the USDA needs to do more about the damage caused to grape crops in upstate New York.

Schumer was in Geneva at the Three Brothers Winery on Monday. He says the polar vortex damaged the buds and vines, which means money lost for local vineyards. He wants to the U.S. Department of Agriculture to help with relief funds through the Tree Assistance Program of the Farm Bill. The program reimburses growers who experience extensive damage. The money would help buy juice for next year's wine vintages and replant crops for future yields.
