Hollywood Preparing For Oscar Week

It's the final countdown to the Academy Awards, and Hollywood is on the edge of its seat.
Oscar watchers are calling it one of the most unpredictable seasons in years. Votes for the Academy Awards are due tomorrow at 5 PM in Hollywood. Experts predict a 3-way race for best picture, between "American Hustle," "Gravity," and "12 Years a Slave."

Cate Blanchett is considered a front runner for best actress in "Blue Jasmine," and Matthew McConaughey for the "Dallas Buyers Club."

For people who missed them in theaters, two of the big contenders are out on DVD tomorrow. "Gravity's" nominations include best film, best director, and best actress for Sandra Bullock.

"Nebraska" also has a nod for best picture, and Bruce Dern is nominated for his role as a cranky old-timer on a road trip through the american heartland.

The Academy Awards will be announced this Sunday, March 2nd.

The worst films of the year get their own special day. The "Razzies" will be announced on Saturday.  "Grown Ups 2" has 8 nominations, including worst film, and worst lead actor for Adam Sandler.  Johnny Depp is in the running for "Lone Ranger," and Naomi Watts for "Diana."
