Ideas for Bus Shelter Reuse Needed

Six Main Street bus shelters will be repurposed or removed.
Rochester has six bus shelters on Main Street that will either have to be removed or repurposed. That's because when the bus station opens on Mortimer Street later this year, the shelters will be obsolete.

Reconnect Rochester is soliciting proposals to find other uses for the shelters. So far, it's gotten 100 suggestions. The ideas include a fish tank, newspaper and food stalls and gardens.

It's not cost effective to simply relocate the shelters to other bus stops.

You can email your suggestions to info@reconnectrochester.org. Reconnect Rochester will work with the city on picking the best proposals.
