This summer Rochester welcomes 8 children from Northern Ireland!  They are staying with host families as part of the Irish Children's Program of Rochester.   The program is now in its 32nd year and its goal is to promote peace through understanding.  News 8's Maureen McGuire interviews Tiernagh, age 14, Valerie, her host, Clare Mercer, the Chaperone from Belfast, and Gina Michener, President of the Board of the Irish Children's Program of Rochester.   Joining all in the studio were the children in this summer's program.

The Irish Children's Program of Rochester relies on the public's support.   It has fundraisers throughout the year.  Click here to learn more about the ICP's history and mission.
