ROCHESTER, NY - The unemployment rate for veterans is three times the rate of civilians. Wednesday's job fair tried to help our local vets get back to work.

The 11th annual National Veterans Job Expo brought in about 1,000 veterans searching for work. There were more than 100 employers ready to hire on-site.

The expo offered vets a chance to mingle with prospective employers and hand out their resumes.

"So, we can get them back in the workforce," Bruce Bradley with C.O.P. Securities said. "A lot of them left their work to go overseas they come back with no job, some of them come back with hard times."

This is the largest national veterans job expo in New York State.
