Local Boy Scouts Spread Cheer at Wilmot Cancer Center

Scouts from Hilton's pack-278 brought "comfort bags" undergoing chemotherapy treatment.
Local cub scouts made an effort to spread a little happiness today and those on the receiving end sure could use it.  Scouts from Hilton's Pack-278 visited the Wilmot Cancer Center this afternoon.  They brought "comfort bags" to patients undergoing chemotherapy.  Inside each bag is water, bookmarks, notes, and other goodies that could be useful during chemo sessions.

Den leader Carol Nowacki commented, ""I just thought it would be a great project for the boys. Everybody's been touched by cancer in one way or another so I thought it would be great for them to decorate the bags and have a little bit of say about what we put into them."

The scouts' project is part of the national Abby's purple bags program.  The program aims to deliver nearly one thousand bags to cancer patients in every state.
