A heartwarming welcome home for a Rochester soldier Wednesday.

Private First Class Corey Teed returned home Wednesday after spending a year in Afghanistan. It was an emotional homecoming for family, friends and Corey's fiance, Kimberly Cuhn.

"I was walking off and then I got lost a little bit and I just turned and saw a bunch of news reporters and my family. I was like holy cow. It was nice to see that the community cares like that," said Teed.

Corey Teed left Afghanistan on emergency leave. His sister had a brain tumor removed. With his tour ending in less than two weeks, Corey is now home for good.

Kimberly said she was overwhelmed and happy when she first saw her soldier walk off the plane.

So what's next for the couple?

"Wedding planning. I have been doing it by myself since February, so it's going to be nice to do some with him," said Cuhn.

"It's nice to be back where there is actually water in the air and you can breathe. It's not in the mountains or the desert," said Teed.

Corey and Kimberly will be getting married in January.
