Bills coach says diagnosis won't affect job
A partial story on the Bills website Tuesday night sparked a firestorm of concern and controversy surrounding the health of head coach Doug Marrone.

The story referred to Marrone having cancer, but only in phrases and incomplete sentence fragments. The story was removed shortly after it was noticed, but it caused twitter speculation for well over an hour.

Marrone and the Bills finally released a statement just before 11pm that the head coach had a cancerous mole removed, but seems to otherwise be in good health. The discovery should not affect his job status.

Here is the complete statement:

During a recent doctor's visit, it was discovered that I had a cancerous mole on my skin, which has since been removed. The only follow-up required is to have my moles checked every three months and that basically is the end of the story. The recent extraction procedure will have no affect on my ability to coach the team moving forward.
