The stories making headlines across the state.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took part in a round-table discussion in New York on an issue dear to her- early childhood education. Parents, teachers and education advocates gathered with Clinton in an East Harlem Council for Human Services Head Start program Tuesday. Clinton is backing New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio's push to make universal pre-K the law in New York City.

Mayor De Blasio has appointed a new Deputy Mayor for Strategic Policy Initiatives. Richard Buery, who runs the Children's Aid Society, was picked for the new role. According to the city, parts of Buery's job will be to direct the De Blasio administration's key initiatives. That includes helping to launch the mayor's free pre-K program.
