Nine Teenagers Arrested for Breaking into Medley Centre

Police found damaged property inside the mall.
Nine teenagers have been arrested for breaking into the Medley Centre.  It happened just after 8:30pm last night.  Irondequoit police responded to the empty mall for a report of a burglary in progress.  Police found several teenagers and one underage person on the scene.  They were detained after police found they had damaged property inside the Medley Centre.  The Irondequoit Fire Marshall and representatives from mall owner Bersin Properties also responded to the call.  The suspects have been charged with burglary and criminal mischief. 

In a statement today, the Medley Centre developer Scott Congel said, "It is, and always has been our desire to complete this billion dollar project.  We look forward to resolving the law suits we have filed so that we are allowed to continue with this massive development project.  hopefully, with increased police surveillance,these episodes will stop."
