Olivia Hillery - Brighton

<br>Olivia Hillery is a talented young photographer from Brighton High School.&nbsp; She's also started her own business, called "Dyeing to Live."

Olivia Hillery picked up a camera four years ago, and she hasn't put it down since.  This Brighton High School senior has developed a large portfolio and a reputation for excellence, creativity and mature leadership.  She loves to focus on eyes and uses the computer to edit her pictures.  Olivia also focuses on model photography, and it comes in handy.  With the help of the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, she started her own business.  It's called Dyeing to Live. She creates unique clothing.  Part of the proceeds go to children who are suffering depression.

"I see a lot of people that don't have the support I did and I believe the support helped me to get me to where I am now," she says. "So if other kids can get that support as well, that would be amazing."

"What's special about Olivia is her maturity, her compassion for her art, but also her sensitivity to other members of the class," says Brighton High School art teacher Debra Burger. "Her vision and her personality come through in all her work."

Olivia's photography won an award from the Empire State Scholastic Association.  Next year, she's off to college at Suny New Paltz, where she will study sociology and photography.
