Hunt had a career-high 360 yards of total offense including a personal best 270 passing yards and 90 rushing yards, two short of his best performance on the ground. He completed a career-high 29-of-43 passes including two touchdowns and connected with 10 different receivers.
The Orange offense converted on third down 66.7 percent of the time (12-of-18) and ran a season-high 94 plays for 480 total yards of offense, the most against an ACC opponent this season.
Ryan Norton kicked the longest field goal of his career, setting a new personal best with a 44-yarder after kicking one 42-yards through the uprights, which also beat his previous record.
Alvin Cornelius III led the game with seven catches for 81 yards, both personal bests. Parris had a career-high seven catches and 47 receiving yards and caught his first two touchdown passes of his tenure at SU.
Hunt led the game in rushing with his 90 yards and a touchdown and Jerome Smith was the second-leading SU rusher with 46 yards on 18 carries.
The SU defense held the Eagles to 30 percent on third down conversion (3-of-10). Marqez Hodge led the team in tackles with seven including six solo take downs. Marquis Spruill assisted on a tackle for loss which brought his career total to 40, tied for second in the SU record book. Cameron Lynch intercepted his second pass of the season and had two tackles and a quarterback hurry.
Chase Reddig completed 10-of-18 passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns. He was also the leading BC rusher with 85 yards on four carries. Alex Amidon led the Eagles with 60 receiving yards on three catches.
The Orange missed two scoring opportunities in the first quarter and ended this first 15 minutes with a 7-0 deficit. SU went 40-yards on its second drive of the game to land on the BC 13 yard line but Norton's 30-yard field goal attempt went wide right to leave the score at 0-0. SU drove 51 yards on its next possession but failed to convert on fourth and goal. The Eagles used the following drive to take the lead, going 96 yards and ending with a 23-yard run into the end zone by Andre Williams.
Syracuse opened the second quarter with a 75-yard scoring drive, capped by a one-yard touchdown pass to Parris, the first of his career, to tie the game at 7-7 with 10:46 left in the first half.
George Morris II scored the first touchdown of his career on the next SU drive, going on a four-yard run to give Syracuse its first lead of the day with 6:12 remaining in the second quarter. Hunt would make it three consecutive scoring drives when he dove into the end zone to put the Orange up by two touchdowns, leading the Eagles 21-7 with 1:10 remaining in the second.
Boston College had enough time for one more scoring drive before halftime, sparked by a 52-yard pass to put the Eagles in their red zone. A nine-yard pass to C.J. Parsons would do the trick, bringing the score to 21-14 to end the second quarter.
The Eagles scored again on their opening drive of the third quarter to tie the game at 21-21. Rettig connected with Jake Sinkovec on a nine-yard pass with 9:56 to go in the third stanza. The Orange answered late in the quarter, putting three points on the board off Norton's 42-yard kick with 3:44 remaining. The SU defense fended off the Eagles on their final drive of the quarter to head into the fourth with a 24-21 lead.
Boston College regained its lead in the middle of the fourth quarter when Rettig went on a one-yard run into the end zone to take a 28-24 lead with 7:49 remaining in the game. Norton hit a 44-yard field goal 2:46 later to cut the BC lead to one point with 5:03 left in the fourth quarter.
The Orange forced a three-and-out on BC's next drive to regain possession but Steele Divitto intercepted Hunt's pass on the second play to set up the final Boston College scoring drive. Syracuse defended the goal line well, fending off the Eagles inside the 10 yard line to force BC to settle for a field goal and give them a 31-27 advantage.
With 2:08 remaining in the game, Hunt led the Orange 75 yards down the field, culminating in an eight-yard pass to Parris, who ran it into the end zone to give Syracuse the victory in its final game of the regular season.
