A Fairport elementary school teacher is charged with driving drunk with her children in the car.  Caroline White, 36, is charged with felony DWI and endangering the welfare of a child.   Police say White was spotted driving erratically on Route 251 in Victor.  Dan Zenner is the driver who noticed the car swerving.  "I watched her in the rear view mirror and she was about to hit a tree head on.   She was really driving badly," said Zenner.   "It was going off the road left and right.  They were going to be in an accident any second.  You could just tell they were drunk."  Zenner says he decided he had to do something.  He managed to get White to pull over and approached her car.  "I went to the car to ask her what is wrong and saw that she was very drunk.  I saw two children in the backseat so I grabbed her keys," said Zenner.

It was 2 o'clock in the afternoon.  Zenner convinced White to let him drive to his workplace, Fingerlake Auto and Glass, which was at least 8 miles away.  "She didn't have much to say.  She kept looking at the clock, saying I was an angel and I was saving her.  It was strange," said Zenner.  Zenner says White called a friend and his boss called police.  He says the children, 2 and 4-year-old boys, were still in their pajamas, but were not hurt.

White tried to leave when they were outside the shop.  Police handcuffed her and took White to the Ontario County Jail.  Zenner was shocked to find out White is an elementary school teacher.   "She's just driving down the street with the trigger cocked back.  I feel like we saved those two kids lives," said Zenner.

White pleaded not guilty and was released on bail.   She is a teacher at Brookhill Elementary School in Fairport.  District officials refused to comment on her address saying, "we do not comment on personnel matters."
